MSSI Delhi marked India MS Day 2025 in grand style on 23 Feb 2025, creating a vibrant and memorable event at the fully accessible Dilli Haat. With 117 enthusiastic participants, including MS persons (PwMS), caregivers, and volunteers, the day was filled with energy, laughter, and camaraderie.
A Day to Remember at Dilli Haat
The choice of Dilli Haat as the venue was perfect—not only for its accessibility but also for its lively ambience. Many of our members experienced this cultural hub for the first time. They were thrilled by its barrier-free environment, clean and well-maintained washrooms, and diverse shopping and dining options. The delightful weather only added to the charm of the day, making it an unforgettable outing.
Thoughtful Gestures for a Special Experience
MSSI Delhi ensured that every participant felt valued and celebrated. Bright orange IMSD caps, MSSI tags, MS awareness leaflets, and ₹400 lunch vouchers were distributed, allowing everyone to enjoy a meal at their favourite restaurants. These thoughtful touches contributed to a sense of belonging and excitement among attendees.
Raising Awareness and Expanding Our Community
India MS Day is not just about celebration; it’s also about advocacy and awareness. With thousands of visitors at Dilli Haat on a Sunday, the venue provided the perfect setting to distribute MS awareness leaflets to the general public. The outreach efforts bore fruit, as three new MS persons, who happened to be visiting with their families, registered with MSSI Delhi after learning about our work.
Capturing Memories: Photography Contest Winners
A photography session added a creative element to the celebrations. A photography competition was held where three winners were announced:
- 1st Prize: Damini Jain (PwMS)
- 2nd Prize: Pankaj Gainda (PwMS)
- 3rd Prize: Sanjeev Chauhan (PwMS)
The contest encouraged participants to capture and share their joyful moments, adding a personal touch to the event.
The Power of Connection and Community
The relaxed and friendly atmosphere fostered deep connections among participants. Many expressed how much they enjoyed chatting, laughing, and reconnecting with old and new friends. The freedom to celebrate in a public space without barriers was empowering and numerous attendees requested that such gatherings be organized more frequently.
Looking Ahead
India MS Day 2025 was a resounding success, bringing smiles, awareness, and togetherness to our MS community. Events like these remind us of the importance of inclusivity and the joy of shared experiences.
Let’s continue to spread awareness, support one another, and celebrate our journey together. Here’s to many more joyous and empowering events in the future!
