The Mumbai Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI), in collaboration with Shushrusha Citizens’ Co-Op Hospital Ltd, Dadar, organized its Annual Free Medical Camp on Sunday. The event saw the participation of approximately 160 attendees, including 48 Multiple Sclerosis Patients (MSPs), caregivers, doctors, hospital staff, volunteers, and MSSI team members.
A Grand Opening with Eminent Personalities
The event commenced with a Ganesh Vandana, followed by a tribute to Late Dr. Randive, the founder of Shushrusha Hospital. The lighting of the ceremonial lamp was led by Dr. Satish Khadilkar, Dean of Bombay Hospital, and Dr. Rekha Bhatkhande, Vice Chairperson of MSSI Mumbai Chapter & Dean of Shushrusha Hospital.
From the MSSI, the following office bearers participated in the health camp and along with the members facilitated the smooth conduct of the camp.

Expert Insights and Advocacy for MS Patients
Dr. Satish Khadilkar, a renowned neurologist, shared the latest advancements in MS treatment and reflected on his 29-year journey with MSSI. National Secretary Sandeep Chitnis discussed ongoing advocacy efforts at the national level to improve conditions for MSPs.
Meanwhile, Dr. Rekha Bhatkhande encouraged MS patients to take full advantage of the free medical services offered at Shushrusha Hospital.

The medical camp officially began at 9:00 AM, with registration opening at 8:30 AM. Patients were welcomed with tea and biscuits, while packed lunches and travel reimbursements were provided to those in need.
