With the festive mood of Diwali around the corner, MSSI Chennai chapter brought a moment of happiness to the members of the Chennai Chapter and their Families by hosting a fun-filled “ Diwali Fest” on Saturday 26th October 2024 at YWCA of Madras. The celebration began with a warm welcome by Mr. Ashokan sir who graciously greeted all the guests. The program was flagged off with Tamil Thai Valthu by the MSSI members together with Miss. Jyothikalai a visually impaired vocalist and a violinist.
Miss. Jyothikalai captivated the audience with her soulful voice and violin performance of a few Tamil, Hindi, and English songs.
As the saying goes, “Happiness multiplies when shared with each other”, so to enrich the spirit and excitement of the festivities few games were arranged. A game of Tambola was played which was followed by “Passing the Parcel,” which was a huge hit with everyone. Both children and adults had a good time acting out movie dialogues, singing, mimicking, dancing etc as game forfeits. The best performers were rewarded with goodies. The attendees’ enthusiasm, heartfelt laughter, and keen participation were delightful to see.
Our MSSI member Mr. Balaji’s birthday was celebrated with a cake cutting which was followed by High tea. To make the Diwali celebration more memorable Diwali sweet box along with Savoury were distributed to all the members as takeaway gifts at the end of the program.
The entire program exuded a sense of solidarity, excitement, and fulfilment for MSSI members, organizers, and the BNY Melon volunteers who made it possible.
