MSSI – Mumbai Chapter had a virtual celebration of Diwali on 26th October 2024. 23 MS families including some MSPs had sent us videos of their participation such as songs, dances, reciting poem, preparing interesting Festival recipes, fabric painting.
We had a special dance video shared by our friend & Celebrity dancer & renowned Bolllywood choreographer, Devesh Mirchandani. All in all, it was a heartwarming celebration.
Ms. Anushree Shukla, an MSP, hosted the program.
Ms. Ruchi Khetle, niece of MSP Sunita, presented an enchanting introductory video.
Ms. Pari Shivtalkar, daughter of MSP Supriya Shivtalkar, gave a graceful dance performance.
Mr. Vishwas Gujjar, the oldest MSP member of MSSI Mumbai, sang a soulful song.
Mrs. Manjiri Vaidya, an MSP, continued the enthralling experience of the program with a display of her beautiful fabric painting work on cloth items like bed sheets, pillow covers, coasters, etc.
Mrs. Reena Agarwal, an MSP from Gwalior, also gave a good singing.
Ms. Akruti Vengsarkar, an MSP, sang a Bollywood song in Sanskrit.
The Paliwal family – husband, wife, and son – each gave beautiful performances. An inspiring poetry was delivered by Mrs. Manisha Paliwal, an MSP. The husband, Mr. Yogesh Paliwal, entertained the gathering with his engaging shayari. The son, Siddesh Paliwal, sang a melodious song.
The next item in the program showcased the grit and determination of an MS warrior. It was Mr. Bhushan Mandlik riding his scooter. The video shows details of how he got onto the scooter from his walker and confidently drove on a busy road.
Mrs. Brishti Ghosh, mother of an MSP, shared mouth-watering cooking video of a variety of Bengali dishes.
Ms. Pooja Jagiasi, an MSP and a dietician, gave general diet tips which are important for an individual’s healthy lifestyle.
Mr. Nadeem Naqvi, an MSP, sang a melodious song, sounding like a professional singer.
Mrs. Sudha Kulkarni, an MSP aged 77 years, performed a classical dance. Her expressive eyes and face, and smooth and rhythmic hand and body movements were truly enchanting.
The highlighted item of the program, a dance performance by celebrity dancer and choreographer, Mr. Devesh Mirchandani, was energetic, elegant, and strong.
Ms. Bhumi Shah, daughter of an MSP, (L) Sneha Shah, made a video on grooming and beauty tips which was elaborate and very satisfying. Her model was MSSI staff, Ms. Sapna.
Ms. Aishwarya Dehte, an MSP, shared a peppy dance performance.
Mr. Arvind Menon, an MSP, sang a soulful and melodious song.
Mrs. Dimple Dhale, an MSP from Nagpur, had created a video on the preparation of different Diwali snacks.
Mrs. Sangeeta Agate, an MSP who was once a professional singer, enthralled the viewers with a melodious song performance.
Ms. Janelle Pereira, daughter of MSP Renuka Pereira, displayed her Mandala Art work. It is heartening to see the young generation showing interest and flair for traditional arts.
Mrs. Ramya Krishnan, daughter-in-law of MSP Mr. Devraj Krishnan, also gave a powerful singing performance.
Mr. Bhavesh Pandya, husband of MSP (L) Jagruti, sang a song which was a fitting performance for a closing act to our Diwali program.
With all the performances of the program over, Prof. Vidya Hattangadi gave the closing remarks as the judge of the program, with a very apt analysis, appreciation, and accolades to all the participants.
As a token of appreciation, cash award of Rs.1000/- is given to all the performing participants. A pair of bedsheets and a packet of sweets were distributed as Diwali gifts to registered MSPs who keeps in touch with MSSI office.
To end the program, vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Sheela Chitnis, Hon Chairperson, Mrs. Surekha Nerurkar, Hon Treasurer, and Mrs. Sundari Raju, MC Member.
