The Annual General Meeting for MSSI, Chennai Chapter was held on September 28, 2024. Mrs. Ann Gonsalvez, Hon. Secretary, called out the meeting agenda. Mr. Ashokan, Hon. Chairperson, presented the balance sheet for the MSSI Chennai Chapter for the financial year 2023-2024, detailing income, expenses for patient welfare, and administrative costs, as well as donations received.
The Accounts was proposed by Mrs.Chitra Ramachandran and seconded by Mrs.Archana Dilip.
Mrs. Ann Gonsalvez then provided an overview of the events held by i.e. the Secretary’s Report for MSSI Chennai Chapter from April 2023 to March 2024. The report highlighted the number of new MS persons, disability certificates & UDID cards, as also the pensions received. She urged those who had not yet applied for disability certificates, UDID, and pensions to do so, explaining their benefits. She cited the case of the IAS Officer and the probability of tougher times ahead to obtain the same.
She also informed the MS persons & their caregivers about Magneto biology, skill development programs, for the differently abled was also highlighted by inviting interested MS persons to participate. Additionally, she talked about Fatigue Management and asked those interested to enrol for the next batch. Fatigue Management and the 12 programmes held was being presented at ICTRIMS in Chandigarh on October 17 – 20, 2024 by Dr.Venkatraman Karthikeyan, Neurologist from Kauvery Hospital, Alwarpet, Chennai.
The event included a game of Housie and cake-cutting celebration for all MS persons born in September. A sumptuous High Tea, brought the meeting to a close.
